Nightlife in Oslo

 

International cities are famous for their nightlife and tourist attractions and Oslo lies in the category of these kinds of cities. But nightlife entered Oslo not very soon like the other well known cities that are a sounding name for the nightlife. The people of Oslo heard the term nightlife in recent years, as the families of Oslo were well suited and people there tended for socializing at home and city had no room for developing the nightlife. Norwegian society and the Darconian controls for alcohol imposed a form of prohibition till the early 20 th century and never encouraged going out of home. In late 1980s the prohibition were relaxed in drinking laws and the slowly the gradual changes pulled it for the nightlife that is not exotic now.

 

Oslo nightlife is cool interesting and Karl Johans gate is the happening place of the night in the city with many music pubs, bars, night clubs and boutiques. The bad part is the expensive foods and drinks in the restaurants and the bars. Alcohol intake is still a prohibitory making their prices high with age limits being 18 and 20 years for drinking beer and wine and spirits respectively. The national drink of Norway is akevitt, a spirit that is flavored and made of herbs. The streets are special and livelier on weekends Friday and Saturday with many Norwegians getting out after 10pm. Visitors to Oslo will be confused with many choices of bars, cafes, restaurants and clubs that are available in huge range.

 

The spectacular nightlife of Oslo is live till 3 am or more with many extending the time frame and continues till early hours of morning. City remains very cool and calm in the day and is welcoming at nights with endearing features of clubs and bars and a lively atmosphere around. The city has all to give for the nightlife lover who will never go disappointed at any time with lot many choices. Food is not a problem for any visitor with availability of vegetarian and non vegetarian stuffs with many choices and can easily pick. Though there are some people who say the nightlife to be boring in Oslo , but it all depends on ones choice of selection and interests in enjoying.
